SNEAK PEEK AT MY LIFE:
So if a year ago you had told me I would have taken a position in sales, or that I would move back to my hometown, I would have laughed. Oddly enough, I am absolutely crazy in love with where life is right now, especially my career. Not only am I happy with my job, but I am thrilled to be working as a part of something that has the chance to impact so many people. The Palm Coast Observer is a fabulous paper in the town that I grew up in -- Palm Coast, Florida. I have recently been promoted to Advertising Manager, and I am excited to keep moving in the direction in which I am moving individually and the paper is moving as a whole. Check it out: www.PalmCoastObserver.com.
I am still employed as a Seasonal Cast Member with the Walt Disney World Company, where I worked for almost 2 years before moving back to Palm Coast. There I was able to hone in on my people skills and focus on my creativity with my role as a Children's Activities Hostess.
HOW I GOT HERE...
When I graduated college, I was still a bit dazed about entering what we like to call "the real world," but I know that all the little pieces of the puzzle have put themselves together, and I am confident in my abilities and acquired skills to succeed in it. I love that I have finally been able to make this dream part of my reality.
I was a communication major, and while I had a concentration in print journalism and have always been a great writer, I ended up leaning towards the public relations area, and developed a passion for the creative. I minored in Spanish and after spending a month abroad in Alicante, Spain, I learned a great deal about the language and how to communicate in the Spanish-speaking world. I took on a part-time internship with Wright Entertainment Group during the end of my senior year of college that blossomed my love for public relations. I graduated in May of 2009 and thought I had the world at my finger tips in Orlando, Florida. Little did I know what was in store for me when I finally found where I was supposed to be, back in my small hometown...
